Mission: Preservation Instinct
Location: Holodeck | USS Ontario
Timeline: After the Away Team

ON:

Tox stood in the holodeck looking out at the Spa program, one of many that he'd brought with him from his previous ship. Some of the Nursing staff was already in the mineral bath. It looked like a luxurious ancient Roman palace. Tox was a Spa snob. He only liked the best and the program was designed with actual mineral water pools, showers, and mud, a program he'd obtained from Risa during his last vacation. It cost a few latinum sticks but it was worth every penny.

The Captain and the Counselor had yet to arrive. The Captain knew the time, but the Counselor. Well, he'd been sneaky about it and manipulated her schedule ever so slightly by asking all the nursing staff that was here to book back to back appointments. It took up her whole day. He tapped the coms in the arch of the program. "Lieutenant Tox to Counselor Rose...there is a counseling emergency can you come to holodeck one?"

Grace walked onto the holodeck a minute before Tox asked her to arrive so she'd be there to see Amanda's response. "Hi," she said to Tox as she walked over to him.

Tox smiled. "Hello! Welcome to a day of pampering." He put an arm around her shoulder. "Trust me captain this will be okay. It's time for everyone to just have fun, relax, and let the stressful times go. There are no ranks here. Just friends."

"That sounds like fun." Grace could use some pampering after recent events.

A counseling emergency? Amanda thought to herself. She had to wonder what Tox's latest breakdown might be. She was certain that it was amusing, and she could use that after a long day of using her brain. =^= I'll be right there, Tox. Give me a moment. =^=

When she arrived, she saw that the Captain was there with the effervescent Trill. Summoning her best holo-Counselor voice, after noticing there did not seem to be an emergency of any sort, "Please state the nature of the Counseling emergency."

Tox laughed. "Oh, that's a good one!" He sighed. "Well, there are a lot of stressed out nurses here." He motioned to the pool of mineral water pool where the nurses were swimming. "Also...the Captain is here to ensure the nursing staff adhere to a rest regiment...as you'll notice your schedule is full of stressed nurse appointments for the rest of the day and there is some mud slinging that is happening." Tox turned. "OY Johansen!"

The other male nurse turned. "What you horse's a...um...behind." His eyes shot to the captain not wanting to swear in her presence.

Tox grinned. "You are a frenemy. I sling mud at you sir." Tox took two steps to the mud pool and picked up a glob tossing it at Johansen and hitting the nurse in the face. Tox turned back to the counselor. "See...total bedlam. But it has minerals so it's like taking out your stresses with love." He grinned. "Over there is the change room with bathing suits so you and Grace, this is a rank free zone, go change and we can have group....mineral aqua therapy."

Johansen called out. "Gee thanks for the mud Tox."

Tox turned and waved. "You're welcome darling. Inhale; it's therapeutic mud. I sling it with love!"

Johansen snorted. "Smells more like rotten eggs."

"So does a day with my mother but we all must endure. As the head nurse I hereby motivate you all upward and onward my lovely nurses."

The nurses in the pool laughed. Tox turned to the Captain and Amanda. His gaze turned to Amanda first. "So that comment about my mother will come back to haunt me in sessions, right?"

The Counselor shook her head and said, "I make no promises."

Tox sighed and then clapped his hands. "Right so....you are both now my prisoners for the day and the Spa program is locked for a few hours. We have drinks, massages...er...not the naughty kind, of course. There is swimming, there will be music, food, mineral mud to sling with love and group emotional bonding!" He clapped his hands. "Let's get to it ladies!"

Grace liked the idea of massages and music. Possibly swimming. She wasn't so sure about a mud bath, but she was definitely not going to sling any of it. She nodded to Tox and went to the changing room to find a modest one-piece swimming suit.

Tox watched her go. He turned to Amanda. "Come on Counselor. Let loose. Forget anything beyond relaxing. You deserve it. Everyone here has one thing in common. We all need to love ourselves more and first before we face any challenge out there and WE are ALL worth it."

"Tox, may I remind you that I am the Counselor on this ship and that calling for an emergency when there is not one is a serious breach of protocol." She sighed heavily knowing that talking sense to Tox was like trying to explain flying to a snail. "But seeing as my schedule is on the lighter side today, I have no issue going along with whatever your little scheme is."

Tox laughed. "Scheme? Me? You wound me Counselor....you wound me." He dramatically placed a hand over his heart.

Amanda laughed gleefully at that. "Sure, Tox. I can see that wound is cutting you to the core...."

Tox snorted and winked. "No scheme just fun today!"

Grace returned a few minutes later dressed in a blue one-piece swimming suit and a tunic in a darker shade of blue.

Tox smiled. "Alright! Everyone into the pool! Drinks are coming up. It's been forever since I got to play bartender so shout out your drink and I'll attempt to make it!"

"Drinks?" Grace asked. "Do you also serve juice?"

He smiled. "We have juice and non-alcoholic drinks that look like they are... There should really be a name for those."
